Stephen P. Fredericksen, Conductor
Stephen P. Fredericksen’s career with music began with the violin at the age of 10. He began his studies on the Double Bass under Milton Beisiegal, formerly the Principal Double Bassist of the New Haven Symphony, adding the study of instrumental conducting while an Undergraduate at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT. He has performed with numerous orchestras from community to professional all over the U.S., and has been a featured soloist as well. Though his primary training was classical in nature, he can also regularly be heard as a jazz and musical theatre bassist.
As a conductor, Stephen has appeared with Orchestras, Bands and Theatre Groups throughout New England, including the Cheshire and Stratford Community Concert Bands, the Hamden Symphony Orchestra and at the Thomaston Opera House and the Warner Theatre. He also has served as an instrumental music instructor both privately, and for numerous Connecticut schools.
